Reform on the Agricultural Circulation System and Commercialized Agricultural Operation

The circulation system of farm produce was reformed to promote the development of agricultural market. Step by step, the government replaced the monopolized purchasing and market system of farm produce with a market-terminated price mechanism. While reforming the traditional state-owned commercial organizations, the government has encouraged the establishment of farmers' purchasing and marketing organizations and market intermediates in order to set up a multi-level, multi-form farm produce market system (free market, wholesale market and future market).

Commercialized agricultural operation was developed to promote agricultural modernization. A complete social service system has been built up for agriculture. While intensifying the service function of state technical and economic sectors and collective organizations, China has also encouraged the farmers to set up various forms of specialized associations to serve themselves under the principle of "being set up by the people, run by the people and benefiting the people".
